Boilermaker 15k Road Race

Saranac provided post race beer -- pomegranate wheat -- cheers!
Summer vacation began Sunday July 13 in Utica, NY at the classic Boilermaker 15K Road Race. Held each summer in Utica, NY, the Boilermaker boasts some 15,000+ runners from all over the nation and the world. Bowden's time for his first Boilermaker was 2:01:07 (gun time). The timing chips malfunctioned, so we are not sure of the official chip time. Bowden's stop watch estimates the time to be 1:50:00.

The race is great fun, there is entertainment by local groups all along the route from: polka dancers and irish step dancers, to DJs, jazz quintets, classical quartets, and even hula hoop girls! Plus plenty of water stations and popsicles.

This is sure to be an annual race. See some pictures.
