Ski Lesson #2 at West Mountain

The Skano Ski Club did not provide a bus for the second lesson, so just Bowden and Emma went up for her second lesson. It was snowing pretty hard when we got there but tapered off. Emma tried out her poles for the first time. The class practiced zig zag turns as they skied down the hill. Check out the photos in the album

First January Snow Storm and Snow Day!

The snow started falling around midnight. We woke up to about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground, but the forecast was for up to 14" by the end of the day. So Shenendehowa Schools closed already! Bowden worked from home, but Kathy had to get out there and see some clients.

Emma and Madeline enjoyed getting out there and playing in the snow. Check out some pictures

First January Snow Storm

We woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow. There have been other snow storms but none have quite reached us. This one did. Emma and Madeline love the snow! Check out the photos.

Emma's Gotcha Day

This evening we celebrated Emma's Gotcha Day with our great friends the Kellers! It is amazing how time flies. I can still remember when we received Emma into our arms on that cold winter day in Changsha, Hunan, China on December 10, 2002. We enjoyed our usual take out Chinese food and the girls all had a great time.

4th Of July on Lake Sacandaga

For the 4th of July we visited the Kellers at their new camp on Lake Sacandaga. We spent the day swimming, kayaking, and boating around the lake. Emma and Madeline loved swimming in the lake with Olivia. Skipper Tom took us all out for a fast boat ride on the lake. We had a yummy meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, and salads. To top it off we watched fireworks in nearby Northville. See the album for pictures of this splendid day!

Jazz Festival 2010

The Freihofer Jazz Festival at Saratoga returned to SPAC on June 26 and June 27 this year. Tim, Jay, Marc, and I made the trek up this year. Our buddy Dan was living it up with his family at Disneyworld in sunny Florida, so we missed him this year. Dr Hal and his lovely wife Dr Sylvia joined us on Saturday just days after returning from their honeymoon in Tahiti.

We followed T's advice and stuck to the KISS principle. We had a couple of new additions to our jazz menu: garlic sandwiches (courtesy of Jaybird) and muffalatta (courtesy of T). Both very, very good. We brought along our usual spicy bloody marys to start the morning off right along with cheese/pepperoni/crackers. And a cooler of beer and waters.

All and all a great time! Check out a few pictures from the album.
